Did Anyone Pray?

Sunday evening just after the service ended and we were leaving the building, I asked Dawn for the van keys. She quickly went for her purse. I chatted with several as I waited for her return. If you know Dawn’s purse you know that it has many compartments. I always think of Captain Kangaroo’s pockets when thinking of her purse. Captain Kangaroo had deep coat pockets which always revealed anything and everything strange. He seemed to have whatever was necessary for every situation in those bottomless pockets. Dawn quickly came back with a somewhat befuddled look on her face. That is NEVER a good thing unless I'm playing a joke on her. She couldn't find the keys. The whole church quickly became involved in the search. We looked everywhere. Suspects quickly began to come to mind. Could it be that "so and so" took them? She was a tad mad at me tonight? Did someone play a mean trick and chuck the keys in the weeds? What happened to those keys! As we all were scramb...

I've MOVED

Some have been experiencing problems seeing my blog. It has affected Internet Explorer users. So, I've decided to move to http://jewellpage.wordpress.com/ I've had this blog for several years now and really had no desire to move. But I like to communicate and I love when people read my blog. So if those who want to can't then I'm moving. I've also included my Devo posts on that page for those interested. See you there! Mike Jaunuary 15, 2011

2010 to 2011 in a Flash!

2010 seems like it was a blur. I never really did get used to writing it out. The 2 came easy and the 0 also. But the 10 always seemed to stop me in my tracks. And now it's 2011. Wow. New Year's Eve we took a group of 25 to Calvary Baptist for a special baptismal service, a meal and to pray in the New Year. We were excited to have two families participate with us. Amanda , Graziele's older sister, was baptized and her dad and mom came to watch the special event. Allison too was baptized and his mom and step dad came to church for the first time. We're praying for these parent's salvation. Saturday , New Years day was a typical "It seems like I've been on an over-nighter" day. The whole city seemed to be in a grog. We visited Junior's Dad, Milton, who had been kidnapped the day before! Not your typical visit. Milton needs Christ and we're praying that this happening helps him to see the brevity of life and his need for the Savior. Sunday ...

FELIZ 2011

The In-betweens!

The time between Christmas and New Year’s Day is weird! Just a week ago Sunday we had over a 100 in church to see our Cantata 2010 . This past Sunday we had 19. What was that all about? Was your church service sparsely populated too? We attributed the lack to the Holidays. Tomorrow we will be taking a group of 21 Juniors and Teens on a hike . Our Omega group from Bible Club earned this hike by doing their best in their Bible memory work. We’re going to a farm about an hour away where we’ll spend the day. We discovered this farm via our Cantata. One of the ladies who was watching at the supermarket was really thrilled with our kids. We made a visit on her and she and her husband offered the use of their farm for a day. So, we’ll be spending Wednesday with this family and an American guest who is staying with them. This will give us a great opportunity to share Christ with them. Friday night we will be going to Calvary Baptist Church to pray in the New Year. We will also be baptizi...

Merry Christmas from Faith

We want to wish one and all a very Merry Christmas. May the Lord continue to bless you as He is blessing us. This is the group that we had at the house for our Christmas Eve Service. Afterwards we went to Alcir and Damares for a lovely meal, singing and fellowship. We had such a wonderful evening sharing the Christ of Christmas!

Lovely Weekend

After the neat experience of presenting our cantata at Wal-Mart I wondered how preforming at our own church would be. Let me say that it was a lovely presentation. We had over 100 total with visitors, choir, orchestra and actors. It was our largest group ever! As I write this update it looks like it is going to rain buckets. Just after Sunday school this morning we went out as a church and handed out invitations for the afternoon presentation. We’d done this several times during the week but each time had ended with drenching rain. For our cantata, however, the weather was lovely, sunny and not too hot. There were various visitors that told me they had come because of an invitation that was handed to them either this morning or earlier in the week. Seeds planted do bring fruit. I talked to one of the visitors who was overwhelmed with how well the kids did. She really was touched with the message of Christmas. Several of your have shared with me how you prayed for our Cantata. It is...
