Time Away

Our team was able to spend twenty-four hours at a summer getaway Tuesday and Wednesday. For Davi and Claudia and family, it was just the second time in their married lives that they were able to spend time away from the humdrum norm. We swam, played games, ate, and had planning sessions for the coming year's ministry. Though just a short period of time it was fun, and worth the $50. That's right, just $50 covered that special getaway! Thanks dad Koch for your Christmas gift to our team.

Crazy Teens

Teens are fun. Or at least our teens are. We had several of them over on Saturday for an activity and gift exchange. We played one game called "Reindeer Games" where pantyhose were placed on Rodolfo's and Joice's heads and stuffed with balloons to form Antlers. It was funny to watch. We also made "Snow girls" with toilet paper. Rafela and Isis were the chosen victims. Our devotional was, of course, the Christmas story. powered by performancing firefox

100 once again!

Another day of one hundred degree weather and two cantatas to sing. It was the hottest performance to date. The Lord blessed and no one fainted. As always, it is hard to believe that it is over. After weeks of preparation, we're done for another Christmas season. However, we do have some good contacts to follow up on.

Success!

We had over 100 participating in our three church cantata's first performance. Aside from the usual mistake here and there all went well. After Davi's message several people indicated their need of salvation! We will be presenting the cantata twice this afternoon. Pray for cooler weather. It was in the mid 90s yesterday.
It is about 100 degrees and our church should be interesting to say the least. But we will be presenting our first ever 3 church cantata this evening. We have a 60 voice choir and the people are really excited about how it sounds. This pic is from one of our recent practices. Also with the choir we have several playing instruments including Abby on the tone chimes and xylophone, David on the Tone chimes and flute and several of our kids (Ana Claudia, Lucas, Guilherme, Mariana, Abigail) on the tone chimes.
December 4, 2006 Raining like crazy and 88 degrees on December 4! Must be Sorocaba, São Paulo, Brazil. The rain is coming down so hard I can bearly hear myself think. It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! It is hard to believe that five years ago yesterday we had our first Sunday morning service at Hope Baptist Church; with a grand total of nobody (but the seven members of our team) there. Talk about a downer. That was a difficult pill for me to swallow and had me questioning my call as a missionary. Yesterday in the celebration of that humble beginning we had 55 present and were encouraged with several people who have been demonstrating faithfulness over the past few weeks. I know that faithfulness is a quality that takes a long time to demonstrate, but we are encouraged nonetheless. We also had three teens celebrating their graduation from junior and high school. Speaking of graduation, we were able to be present at Juliana’s graduation from Bible College. The 22 grads represe
