"Thus, the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them."  Back in 2003/2004, the Hubble telescope took a look at a tiny spot in the universe over 11.3 days. The extra extended exposure of that minuscule portion of the heavens astounded scientists. Science-speak since has recorded the following babble. "Subsequent deep imagery from Hubble, including the Hubble Ultra Deep Field, has revealed the most distant galaxies ever observed. Because of the time it has taken their light to reach us, we see some of these galaxies as they were just half a billion years after the Big Bang." Moses was no scientist, and he didn't need to be. When I was a kid I loved to look at the moon and the planets through my 60 power telescope. When I first saw craters on the moon I was in ecstasy. I had visions of getting a more powerful telescope so that I could see even more. I had an 11 year old mind but I had an advantage over most of the scientists at NASA. In this incredible paragraph we have a summary of who Jesus is and what he has done. In an economy of words that stuns us we see that Jesus was the communication from God to man, the Word. Jesus was eternal because he was with God in eternity. Jesus is Divine because he is God. To emphasize his point, as if he had to, John says it again, "This same Jesus, was with God in the beginning.  He goes on with another astounding declaration," All that exists was made by him". Here, if we pause to contemplate what he just said, we realize that Jesus is incomprehensible. We begin to grasp a molecule of Jesus' humility in Paul's words in his Philippian letter, "(Jesus), ...

Abijah was the new king of Judah. He sat on the throne of his departed father Rehoboam. Jeroboam was still king of Israel. Rebeca So often kids express out loud what we adults are thinking. Sundays in Sunday school lately we are playing the part of investigators. Our investigations have taken us to a better understanding of God. We have looked at his Omnipresence, omniscient and today’s lesson was about how Creative He is and how that God has given men minds to invent and think of new ideas. During the lesson I spoke about God’s eternal existence. He never didn’t exist. As I mentioned this fact, that we adults often take for granted, a couple of the girls had huge questions. I could tell by the hazy look crept over their cute little faces. Tais, who is always thinking and asking good questions, immediately raised her hand. “Pastor! God never began?! I can’t even comprehend that!” I told her that this aspect of God’s character is AMAZING and impossible for anyone to comprehend.
