Good morning father.
I was thinking. You never slumber nor sleep. I don't understand. I have spent one third of my life in bed. Yet you never sleep? I don't understand.
I often say, "On the seventh day, God rested. Is it because he was tired? No!"
But... weren't you? I mean, you created everything from nothing, in six days. The entire universe. Incomprehensible. Yet, you weren't tired?
A psalm came to mind.
Psalm 121:1-8 — A song of ascents. I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD watches over you— the LORD is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
This psalm expresses, in an amazing way, how you have been and are, totally involved in every aspect of my life. Your care and creative work is constant.
I am so weak, puny, insignificant. Yet, in your sleeplessness, you watch and care for me. I am awestruck. Dumbfounded. This is amazing grace. Everlasting love.
