2 Thessalonians 1:6 God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you 7 and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels. He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. 9 They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his might 10 on the day he comes to be glorified in his holy people and to be marveled at among all those who have believed. This includes you because you believed our testimony to you. 11 With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith.
One day Jesus will come back as a punisher of the bad guys. This little snippet from Paul's second letter to the church in Thessaloniki is a sampling of what to expect. Destruction, punishment, and being shut out from the Lord's presence is a vivid and powerful warning for all who read these important words.
However, it seems like reading the Bible is less and less attractive to the majority these days. People are busy reading and writing for sure. It's just not the word of God that they care about. They don't even believe in the word of God. Nor the God of the word. It is like it was in Noah's day. Oh, wait. That is what God said that the last days would be like. Then sudden destruction will come upon the bad God ignores. They won't be able to ignore God any longer. It won't be pretty, but it will be just. There will be no argument and no justification for the lack of belief.
So what should you do?
Know that God is just and the justifier of those who believes.
Know that he is coming
Know that you need to know him in a personal way.
Read his plan in the Bible.
It is imperative to read this one. So, just do it.
